Lack of motivation to job search
How do you stay motivated to look for a professional level job after being off for a couple of years?

I think the key is to take some real time, don't hurry, and find an area that you can be truly passionate about. A while ago on Oprah, I remember seeing a show that taught women how to do this. It featured a woman who was a bookkeeper or something and hated it. She went through this discovery process and found out that what she really liked was interviewing people about thier lives and writing about it. 180 degrees from what she was doing. I can't remember everything, maybe it's still up on the Oprah site, but it had to do with writing down what you think about when you don't have to think about anything, and what you are doing during the day when you feel the most empowered. Even if you don't think it can be turned into a job, just start writing things down and you'll start to see a pattern. Almost any passion can be turned into income these days, even if its just starting a blog about the topic you're interested in. Then you become an expert, write an ebook, get speaking engagements . . . and end up on Oprah! Teehee, who knows. But if you're going after something you love, you'll be able to keep the motivation. Good luck!
