Telecommuter

Tutorial

Telecommuting means that you are employed by a company, but work from a remote location, usually home.  Telecommuting differs from freelancing in that the employment is on-going.

If you have a current job that you feel you could do just as well from home either all of the time or part of the time, prepare a plan and approach your employer about working out a telecommute arrangement.  Many large employers are becoming more open to the idea as technology allows the change to become almost transparent. The resources section below contains links to helpful ideas and templates.

If you would like to seek for a new position that would accommodate telecommuting, several links are provided below to companies who hire workers to telecommute, or job boards that specialize in telecommuting arrangements.
