Flexible Jobs

Flexible jobs fall into three broad categories. Find the category below that best meets your needs and click to find a list of opportunities we've found for that category

Start a Business

1. Business Owner In order to start your own business and be successful, you must be passionate about what you are doing and willing to work very hard for several years to build the business. Bandycoop provides all kinds of tools to help you get started and grow your business. This category also includes freelance work as it is really just a one-person business.

2. Franchisee For a fee, you get a well-established business name, possibly a territory, and the business/marketing plan and products. The rest is up to you. Though this usually requires an investment up front, if you pick the right company and are passionate about building your business, this can save you $1000s on building name recognition and startup costs. These opportunities are distinguished in that you are not part of a larger "up-line" or "down-line" organization. It is simply your own business using someone else's materials and methods that you have purchased.

3. Direct Sales Rep This option is often referred to as "owning your own business" but you are really taking a company's products and marketing material and building a business around that, though some leeway is given as to the where and when you perform the job. This would include Avon, Pampered Chef, Discovery Toys, etc. You are not determining or manufacturing the product, but you are involved in inventory, sales and marketing. These opportunities are distinguished from franchises in that you usually have an "up-line" director who helps out with training and on-going leadership, and the opportunity to build a "down-line" organization to earn even more money from their sales.

4. Product Advocate These opportunities often tell you that you can "own your own business" without having to sell anything or carry any inventory. The basic framework is that you purchase, through the parent company, certain products to use for yourself. You then get others to purchase these products for themselves and you get a cut of these sales. The major component that you are providing is the marketing. Many Multi-level-marketing companies fall into this category. A new brand of product advocate is gaining popularity on the internet in the form of affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing can be a business in and of itself or just a way to monetize your website or blog.

5. Telecommuter Telecommuting is very much like having a regular workplace job, but it is just done from your own home. Many employers will allow their employees to work full or part-time from home to avoid long commutes or accommodate family needs. Also, many internet companies are "virtual" companies with no office to telecommute from. A popular trend for call centers is to hire at-home agents. Sometimes there is an hourly wage, sometimes you work as an independent contractor. Read about opportunities here.

6. Flex-Time Employee In this category are included those jobs that offer a significant amount of flexibility to do work when and where it is best suited. Job sharing and shift work are included. Many companies are embracing flex-time as a way to retain employees and/or cut expenses. Some careers work naturally into this type of arrangement, but now even more traditional jobs are finding some flexibility due to advances in technology and the need for globalization.

Add a Little to Your Household Income - No Resume Required

7. Pay-Per-Item There actually are several opportunities to earn a small amount of cash from home without an actual job. These "Pay-Per-Item" companies pay you for each survey, article, or click, or share the ad revenue generated through your contribution of articles, photos, or videos. Though these offers are legitimate, they cannot usually replace a regular paying job. They are, however, an easy way to supplement the family income if you find that you have some extra time on your hands.

8. Contests, Sweepstakes, Freebies, and Savings You can earn some pretty good cash and prizes by entering on-line contests and sweepstakes. The secret is in the number of contests you enter - the more you enter, the more the odds are in your favor. Also, many companies will give you sample or trial products in exchange for opinions and word of mouth advertising. And since a penny saved is a penny earned, weĆve included some resources for finding all kinds of savings on the internet.
